Dancehall reggae superstar Beenie Man is claiming that he has not seen his son Marco Dean for over 8 months. D'Angel, Beenie Man's estranged wife has claimed Beenie Man has "made no attempt to call to enquire about the welfare of his son". We present another chapter in the Beenie-D'Angel saga.
Recently The Jamaica Star sat down in a one on one interview with Beenie Man, affectionately know as the Doctor. According to Beenie, the only time he ever sees Marco Dean are the moments when he looks at the picture he has. Beenie states in the interview that, "From July last year (2007) mi nuh si Marco-Dean. D'Angel nuh lift di injunction, suh mi cyan guh a ar yard gate, ar store, nutt'n."
In what has been a very public, high profile affair, D'Angel, Michelle Downer, was once the girlfriend of Beenie Man nemesis, Bounty Killer. Beenie eventually landed D'Angel, which prompted a lyrical feud between the two dancehall heavyweights, with Beenie claiming Bounty could not satisfy D'Angel, and Bounty claiming Beenie Man was scraping up his left overs. Beenie Man then went on to wed D'Angel in the Jamaican wedding of the year. Unfortunately Beenie Man and D'Angel were also chief players in the breakup and divorce of the year, with the only hurt individual being young Marco Dean.
Beenie Man challenged D'Angel seeking a paternity test to prove he was in fact the father of Marco Dean. Prior to the paternity test a Jamaican judge awarded D'Angel a monthly payment of J$30,000 be paid by Beenie Man monthly for support. Since then Beenie Man has been proven to be the father of Marco Dean and subsequently the monthly fee has been increased.
D'Angel in response to Beenie's allegation of not seeing his son responded via a statement via her publicist, which is her normal procedure saying, "That is separate, but everything is in court, the injunction, the custody over Marco-Dean, child support, everything. The matter is in court, so we don't want to speak about it and when the case is resolved, the public will know the truth of the matter and we have the evidence to show for everything."
